Sydney, Australia. 2008.10.29 - During the last week, streaming videos have been produced for five Digital Tsunami clients.

These videos were for the business organisations Australia China Business Council (ACBC) and Australia Japan Business Association (AJBA), global cinematographer L'Image, heavy engineering firm Keppel Prince, and global pharmaceutical brand Solvay.

Digital Tsunami has been integrating video into websites since the company was founded in 1996! Videos are compressed (while audio signal is uncompressed to guarantee highest quality), and encoded with the H264 codec, ensuring maximum quality with optimum filesize. It is this compression which enables large dimension videos to stream immediately on a standard Internet connection.

Digital Tsunami has significant expertise in film and video production, since the company founder has been a film professional since 1979. Andrew W Morse has produced television commercials and corporate films in Australia since 1983 and in China since 1991. Digital Tsunami was founded primarily as the Internet was an acknowledged mechanism for disseminating corporate video. Since then, Morse has constantly proselytised about the impact of streaming video.

As a membership-based organisation, the ACBC has branches throughout Australia. Digital Tsunami filmed a recent NSW AGM, at which the Australian Ambassador to China, HE Dr Geoff Raby, addressed the meeting. 5 separate films were produced of the speeches by the Ambassador; the NSW President; and Board member introductions; for viewing within the secure members only section of the website. A video overview of the evening is viewable in the public site. The Director of Photography was Morse's long-time colleague Matt Gormly, who has filmed around the world for global brands such as Rio Tinto, Disney, Toyota and MTV.

At a recent cocktail event of the AJBA, the CEO of Fujitsu, Mr Rod Vawdrey, spoke of his company's philosophy of innovation and corporate social responsibility. Video shot during the evening was supplied to Digital Tsunami and a video overview produced and encoded for the site.

L'Image Cinematography is a company with a vast portfolio of motion picture work. This work includes commercial, corporate, documentary, drama, and feature films spanning 30 years and locations all around the globe. The website, built by Digital Tsunami, integrates dramatic videos of selected projects.

The Victorian engineering firm Keppel Prince, has developed a substantial market share as an Australian builder of wind towers. Manufacturing cylindrical steel sections and erecting 68 tonne narcelles atop 70 metre tall wind towers in steep terrain, the company has substantial construction expertise. This is evident in the film of the Waubra Wind Farm project, in which 128 towers are being erected in Western Victoria. Footage of the construction was shot by local cameraman Colin Stewart, and edited by Digital Tsunami into a 3 minute sequence.

Belgian-based global pharmaceutical brand Solvay recently hosted a series of speeches in Australian cities, by a world authority on pancreatic exocrine insufficiency. Digital Tsunami filmed the events at Circa restaurant in Melbourne and the Custom's House in Brisbane, and is producing an interactive CD-ROM in which the video is synchronised with the PowerPoint presentation. Hundreds of the discs will be distributed to healthcare professionals across the country. Solvay also commissioned Digital Tsunami to design a datasheet. For this Digital Tsunami engaged a medically trained copywriter to attend the event and prepare the print content. All print collaterals (CD-ROM label, case sleeve, datahsheet) were all designed in compliance with relevant brand style guides.

Recently, there appears to have been a dramatic increase in the number of companies recognising the value of streaming video on the web. The impact of streaming video at a high resolution and with high production values, ensures that film production generates extreme ROI. In the case of recent Arabian Gulf recruitment site http://careers.leightonint.com, each video had 3 files produced in different sizes, to ensure the same rapid delivery even for low bandwidth Internet connections.

Digital Tsunami's capabilities encompass all aspects of marketing communications solutions including: eStrategy, film, identity, interactive, photography and print, for global brands, MNCs and innovative SMEs through offices in Australia and China.
