Sydney, Australia. 2009.4.28 - In response to government investment in infrastructure, Hills SVL has launched a website focusing on audio, visual, lighting and automation control systems for the Australian education sector.
 

 
The Australian government has implementing a stimulus package for educational institutions, with 5,965 schools to receive $828.16 million in funding for infrastructure and refurbishment projects.
 
Education AV addresses the sound, lighting and video control technologies which will naturally be required for new school halls and refurbished classrooms across the country. The site presents products and solutions for primary schools, secondary schools and training colleges, tertiary institutions and universities.
 
The site is an initiative of Hills SVL (Sound, Vision and Lighting), which is a subsidiary of the listed corporation Hills Industries Limited. ASX: HIL.
 
The project lead was the Hills SVL Marketing Manager, who had previously worked with Digital Tsunami while at another company. Since Digital Tsunami was founded in 1996, the company has retained many clients over periods of many years and continues to benefit from referrals from our clients.
 
The site was constructed with a highly contemporary open source CMS, which enabled particularly rapid deployment of content and the automatic generation of user-friendly URLs which aid considerably in SEO.
 
Search engine optimisation was an important focus of the project, with an SEO specialist commissioned to deliver analysis and strategy, and with the structure and meta-tags of the site highly optimised through the CMS.
 
Several distinctive features of the interface are an accordion panel on the welcome page, which presents the key solutions in a dynamic form (and reflects the accordion navigation), and image enlargements appearing in a full screen 'shadowbox' overlay.
 
Amongst the products presented online are; Audio, Lighting, Automation and Control Products and Projector Screens. These are offered in an extensive range of packages including: Energy Management Solutions, Hearing Assistance Loops, In-class Teaching Aids, simplified AV Systems, Portable PA Systems and Loudhailers, Theatrical Performance Systems, PA Installation Systems, and Library and Learning Neighbourhood technologies.
